Discord has become a very popular platform for the hobby. In this category you'll see various hubs and communities where users post one-on-one and group advertisements, as well as chat out of character about roleplaying.
There are various hosts for forum roleplays including but not limited to: Jcink, ZetaBoards, MyBB, etc. This section has links to communities that facilitate posting one-on-one ads, group ads, resources for graphics and coding, out of character chatting, and more.
Tumblr is a bit of a catch-all with roleplay. Many people use blogs to advertise for roleplay occurring on other platforms, but some people also roleplay on Tumblr itself. You'll find some of each in this section.
In this category you'll find out of character and roleplay partner search communities. Reddit has a fair amount of subreddits geared toward NSFW roleplay specifically, also known as ERP.
Just about anywhere you can communicate via text, you'll find roleplayers. In this section you'll see links to hubs and directories for hosts such as Dreamwidth, LiveJournal, and InsaneJournal.
